Prof. Pittaya Dankulchai, Head of the Division of Radiation Oncology, Department of Radiology, warmly welcome all participants to the 1st Siriraj International Conference on Particle Therapy (SiCOPT).
The conference aims to explore advancements in Proton Therapy and Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT), featuring distinguished experts from Japan and the United States of America.
The morning sessions include radiation biology for BNCT by Assoc. Prof. Kazuyo Igawa (Okayama University, Japan), beam design and physical dosimetry of accelerator-based BNCT by Asst. Prof. Naonori Hu (Osaka Medical & Pharmaceutical University, Japan), and accelerator-based BNCT facility planning and design, again led by Assoc. Prof. Kazuyo Igawa.
After a lunch break, the afternoon sessions focus on Proton Therapy: Past, Present, and Future, presented by Assoc. Prof. Xuanfeng Ding (Oakland University, USA), followed by Clinical Practice for BNCT, again by Assoc. Prof. Kazuyo Igawa. The day concludes with an insightful session on Beaumont/Corewell Proton Therapy Center’s Clinical Operations and Research, presented by Assoc. Prof. Xuanfeng Ding.
With engaging discussions and networking opportunities, the conference sets the stage for advancements in BNCT and Proton Therapy.
